A mind is a scary place to live and to escape it might be the scariest part of the process. Depression is a prison and your thoughts are the armed guards whose job is to keep you locked up inside your mind. I've suffered from depression for many years. Embarrassing enough I will admit I'm still struggling every day to keep negative thoughts out of my head.
I know first hand what it feels like to feel like nothing at all, to be abused and feel mistreated. This is why I'm super excited about starting this outlet for young creative individuals and even those who never considered writing or creating. This is something that won't completely heal every broken heart or every mind in prison but it sure is a start.
